Triterpenoids from plants of the genus Tamarix

The taraxeran-14-ene-type triterpenoids methyl 3-β-al-D-fridoolean-14-en-28-oate (1), 3-α-[3″,4′-dihydroxytrans-cinnamoyl]-oxy-D-fridoolean-14-en-28-oic acid (2), and β-sitosterol (3) were isolated from the aerial part of plants from the genus Tamarix (T. laxa, T. elongata) (Tamaricaceae). The structures of the triterpenoids were proved using spectral data (IR, UV, PMR, ¹³C NMR, 2D NMR ¹H-¹H COSY, HMQC, HMBC, mass). 微量热法研究γ-Mo2N催化剂表面氢的微分吸附热

Differential heats of H 2 adsorption on γ-Mo2N catalysts were studied by using microcalorimetry. Samples with high and medium surface areas (90 and 17 m2•g -1 ) present a homogeneous energetic distribution of surface sites, which corresponds with the preferential orientation of their (200) planes. Molybdenum nitride with low surface area (8 m2•g -1 ) displays a heterogeneous energetic distribution of H 2 adsorption sites. The higher initial differential heat of hydrogen adsorption observed for the low surface Mo nitride was attributed to species adsorbed on surface sites associated with the (111) plane.     

硫化物/Ru(II)络合物复合敏化TiO2纳米多孔膜

用光电化学方法研究了ＣｄＳ,ＰｄＳ和Ｒ１１Ｌ２（ＮＣＳ）２,（Ｌ＝２,２′－ｂｉｐｙｄｉｎｅ－４,４′－ｄｉｃａｒｂｏｘｙｌｉｃａｃｉｄ）复合敏化ＴｉＯ２纳米晶电极的光电化学行为,结果表明,采用复合敏化比用Ｒ１１（ＩＩ）络合物单独敏化ＴｉＯ２纳米晶电极效果好,大大提高了光电转换效率,主要原因是采用复合敏化,可防止ＴｉＯ２导带上由光注入产生的电子的反向转移,避免了电子的损失。     

Effect of the complex forming ion on the physicochemical characteristics of solvation of tetraphenylporphine complexes

The enthalpies of dissolution, transfer, and axial coordination for the Cd(II), Co(II), Mn(III), Fe(III), and Cr(III) complexes of tetraphenylporphine, H₂(TPP), in nonpolar (C₆H₆, CCl₄) and electron-donating solvents (DMF, DMSO, Py,c-C₅H₁₀NH) have been determined calorimetrically at 298.15 K. On the basis of thermogravimetrical data for the corresponding crystallosolvates the composition, thermal stability, and energy of intermolecular interaction of the metal-porphine complexes with pyridine have been calculated. Complexing in noncoordinating solvents brings about no radical change in the physicochemical characteristics of axial coordination which depend critically on the electron structure of the complex-forming metal.Translated fromfzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Structural and Adsorptive Characteristics of Pyrocarbon/Silica Gel Si-60

Pyrocarbon/silica gel adsorbents (carbosils, CS) with mesoporous Si-60 (Merck, granule size 0.2–0.5 mm) modified by pyrolysis of CH₂Cl₂ at 823 K and reaction time from 0.5 to 6 h and then hydrothermally treated at 473 K for 6 h were studied by means of TEM, adsorption and ¹H NMR methods. Changes in the structural and adsorptive characteristics of hybrid adsorbents before and after hydrothermal treatment, which depend on pyrocarbon content (C _C), were analyzed on the basis of TEM micrographs and p-nitrophenol and nitrogen adsorption isotherms treated using a constrained regularization method. Interfacial water layers in aqueous suspension of CS were investigated by means of ¹H NMR with freezing-out of bulk water at T < 273 K showing nonlinear changes in the Gibbs free energy of interfacial water with increasing C _C because of nonlinear dependence of the structural characteristics of pyrocarbon deposits and CS as a whole on C _C.     

Determination of Size Distribution of Nano-particles by Capillary Zone Electrophoresis

A new method was developed for the determination of the size distribution of nano-particles by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). Scattering effect of nanoparticles was studied. This method for the determination of size distribution was statistical.     

The use of glass capillary columns for the analysis of polar natural products

Two published procedures for glass capillary column production are applied to produce capillaries for chromatography of polar natural compounds. Soda lime glass capillaries, after leaching with aqueous HCL, are either treated with colloidal silicic acid or with barium carbonate and coated with either Silar 7CP or SE 52. A test mixture as well as polar carbohydrate and peptide mixtures are chromatographed on the different columns and their chromatographic properties are evaluated. Combined capillary gas chromatography-electron impact and chemical ionization mass spectrometry are used for identification of the peptide sequence.     

Phosphorylthioacetamides in the synthesis of annulated quinoxalines

Diethoxyphosphorylthioacetamide in the reaction with 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline acted as a thionating reagent, giving diethoxyphosphorylacetonitrile and 2-chloro-3-[(3-chloro-2-quinoxalinyl)thio]quinoxaline. Reactions of phosphorylthioacetamides with N-methylquinoxalinium iodide in alcohol media in the presence of a base proceeded stereoselectively to afford cis-3-phosphoryl-1,3,3a,4,9,9a-hexahydro-2H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2-thiones. Gas–liquid partition coefficients and Henry's law constants of methyl mercaptan in aqueous solutions of Fe(II)–CDTA chelate complex

Utilization of ferric chelate complex of trans-1,2-cyclohexanediaminetetraacetic acid (CDTA) for the oxidative scrubbing of H₂S and CH₃SH in Kraft mill streams can be beneficial from the standpoints of iron protection against precipitation and oxygen-mediated regenerative oxidation of the ferrous chelate CDTA. The physical solubility of methyl mercaptan in CDTA–Fe(III) complex cannot be measured directly because of oxidation of the sulfur-bearing gaseous species with the ferric chelate. Therefore, this investigation was carried out to determine the gas–liquid partition coefficients and Henry's law constants of methyl mercaptan in aqueous iron-free CDTA solutions and non-reacting ferrous chelate solutions (CDTA–Fe(II) complex), using the static headspace method with an estimated accuracy of about 2%. Experiments with aqueous solutions of chelate concentrations varying between 38 and 300 mol m⁻³ were carried out at temperatures between 298 and 333 K and atmospheric pressure. It was shown that the methyl mercaptan solubility decreases with increasing temperature for all systems but was not much influenced, in the studied conditions, by the chelate concentration especially at larger temperatures.     

Inversion of ν(MHal) stretching frequencies in the spectra of dihalosilylenes, -germylenes, -stannylenes,and their complexes with Lewis bases

The vibrational spectra of tetravalent metal halides (M = Si, Ge, Sn) and the corresponding dihalocarbene analogs M^IIHal₂, obtained by the authors, and the relevant published data are compared. The spectra of the M^IIHal₂ species exhibit inversion of the M-Hal stretching frequencies (ν^s(M^IIHal) > ν ^as(M^IIHal)). This can be used for analytical purposes and allows one to distinguish between the spectra of the M^IV and M^II halides. The IR and Raman spectra of the complexes of dihalogermylenes and -stannylenes with triphenylphosphine and 1,4-dioxane also exhibit inversion of the ν(MHal) stretching frequencies. This confirms the conclusion drawn earlier based on the analysis of the geometric parameters and reactivities of the complexes in question that the divalent state of the M atom in these species is retained.
